High-Spec Dividing Wall for the Motor Industry
Working in collaboration with long-standing premier trade customer, Optimum Storage Systems, WRG Steel Partitioning has recently completed a high-specification factory dividing wall for a vehicle modification client.
Brief
Optimum briefed WRG on designing a bespoke solid steel partitioning dividing wall in the client’s factory to meet the specifications.
Considerations included acoustics, bespoke sizing to divide the space, and ease of access.
To comply with the acoustic requirements, WRG recommended a bespoke Double Skin partitioning solution to help reduce the noise from the welding bag being carried across the assembly bays.
Optimum formally identified the area with supporting plans for installing a welding curtain to allow access between the two areas. Full drawings were submitted for approval by the client’s Directors before manufacture.
Solution
From our centrally located UK factory, we began work on the design and manufacture of the bespoke Double Skin dividing wall with the brief in mind.
Our in-house design team designed the single run of 24 metres using Double Skin Partitioning from floor to ceiling (5.3 metres), incorporating a single swing door on the above mezzanine for access to the upper level. This design also included access between the bays using a 1500mm opening shielded by a welding strip curtain.

Installation was carried out by Optimum and was completed on time and within budget and successfully met the client’s specification and design requirements.
