Time Saving & Efficiency On-site: Factory-Fitted Glazing
Saving time, reducing costs and improving efficiency on-site have become increasingly important.
At WRG, utilising our expertise in steel manufacturing, we offer onsite efficiencies for our trade customers through factory-fitted glazed steel partitioning.
We manufacture and supply laminated safety glazing solutions in both our single skin and double skin partitioning, with double glazed modules also available in our double skin range. This offering provides a faster and more durable solution, compared to the traditional stud and plasterboard systems.
In this article, we will cover the benefits of factory-fitted glazing over traditional systems.
Faster Installation
The glazing is carried out in our factory, so partitioning runs can be fitted fully glazed at the time of installation, saving hours of extra time on site compared to stud and plasterboard systems that need glazing afterwards.
This pre-fabricated approach also minimises site disruption due to handline glass deliveries and the risk of project delays, ensuring efficient operations, especially in busy site environments where each day is a significant cost. Once the partitioning is manufactured to the required size and the glazing is fitted in the factory, it is simply ready to be sent to the site to be installed.
High-quality precision
Our factory provides a controlled environment for manufacturing, especially for fragile materials such as glass, ensuring consistent quality and precision.
With decades of experience, WRG’s skilled steel manufacturers produce exact-fit pre-fabricated glazed partitioning, reducing waste and minimising damage. In turn, this efficiency of ours becomes a benefit to our trade customers through cost and speed on-site.
Design flexibility
Inside our factory, our glazing has steel beading with glazing foam, which is far superior to traditional plastic glazing channels and can be colour-matched to the main partitioning or supplied in traditional black RAL9005.
Glazing options include 6.4mm laminated safety glass as a standard; we can also supply factory-fitted Perspex if required as an option. Our double skin double-glazed units use 6mm toughened glass for additional acoustic performance benefits.
In addition, the factory setting allows for more complex or bespoke designs to be manufactured precisely, allowing for more flexibility. Whether your client would like solid/glazed or solid/glazed/solid or a bespoke configuration, we can tailor the partitioning to your specific requirements.
Increased durability
Glazed steel partitioning is inherently more durable and robust than traditional stud and plasterboard systems, with pre-fabricated glazed modules being fully re-locatable.
Cost benefits
Reduced onsite installation time translates to lower labour costs. Additionally, the durability and minimal maintenance of pre-fabricated glazed steel partitioning systems lead to long-term cost savings.
Overall, factory-fitted glazed steel partitioning offers a faster, higher-quality and more robust solution compared to traditional onsite stud and plasterboard systems.
